The more critters you open your heart to—the two-legged, four-legged, multi-legged, winged and finned—the more capacity you’ll have to love; exponentially . Yes, sometimes you’ll get hurt. Yes, sometimes you’ll be disappointed and discouraged. But in the end, I’ve never heard someone say they’ve loved too many, or had too many love them back.
