I love to share my stories and am often asked to speak about my experience in aviation and writing. I’m a strong supporter of the STEM movement and enjoy speaking to student and adult audiences. Additionally, as a woman in a male-dominated industry (especially in the 1980s) I have a lesson or two I can share for overcoming challenges in the workplace.

I’ve been both a mentor and have been mentored in my day. I believe mentoring can make all the difference in young people’s lives when choosing their career paths, as well, help improve personal growth.
What is STEM and Why Should You Care?
You may have heard this new buzz word floating around called STEM. It stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M), and it’s currently an education movement close to my heart. I want to bridge the gap and prepare the kids in your life to take advantage of the opportunities that are available in STEM careers.
Navigating Unconventional Careers
I get a lot of questions about my life as a pilot, as well as, my life as a fictional author. How did you become an author? What should my child be doing if they want to have a career in aviation? My talk on how to navigate unconventional careers was born out of the many conversations I’ve had with people on this very subject.
