Where She Went
by Gayle Forman
A young rock star wakes in his hotel room only to discover he’s still stuck in a life most people only dream of living. On the eve on embarking on highly anticipated international tour, the lead singer Adam is conflicted. Walking the streets of New York, he hopes to find answers. As he passes the marquis at carnegie hall he sees the name of a woman he hasn’t seen for sometime. The love of his life who left him with no explanation.
Genre: young adult fiction (probably ages 14 and up)
Content: eludes to antidepressants, smoking and light profanity
Pages: 157
Point of view: first person, from the perspective of Adam, the lead singer of the band “Shooting Star.”
Favorite parts: Extraordinary opening paragraph, entire story happens over two days. Love the fact that despite getting everything he thinks he wants, Adam still goes searching for answers.
*Summary: An unlikely but fantastic relationship story.
