I remember a speaker years ago who finished up his evening talk at our club meeting then said he needed to leave for the hospital. His young son had swallowed several coins right before he stepped up to the podium, so there was no chance for a substitute. “But now,” he said, “I need to go and see if I can help my wife ‘make change’.” Amazing composure.
