There will be many times you will feel not enough; Not strong enough, smart enough, brave enough, tolerant enough, patient enough, not producing enough, just not doing enough in general. Know that the quickest way to stop this thinking in a moment is to challenge those unproductive thoughts by repeating a few simple words: I am enough, I do enough and I’m worthy. In the beginning, you might have to repeat them over and over again until the old way of thinking lets go and moves out of your head. Remember, these types of thoughts have been part of the story you’ve told yourself for quite some time and they will be stubborn. But if you take a walk and focus on being enough, before long the lack will wash away and you will be clear-headed to start to explore what the “not enough” feelings are trying to tell you, which one of your own needs—safety, nurturing, security, respect— aren’t being met.
