Remember that if you resist forgiving, you are keeping yourself connected to a hurt that has already happened. By holding on to angry, bitter, or resentful thoughts you’re allowing yourself to relive the painful experience over and over again even though it’s in the past. If you are unable to let go and forgive, your thoughts and feelings towards an event will prevent you from getting the closure you need to feel the peace you’re searching for.
