When emotions get heated, you’ll be tempted to dwell on the trigger, repeating the offense over and over again in your mind. How dare they say that to me? That was so unfair. I didn’t deserve that. I should have said…Why do they think it’s okay to treat me…?

When stuck in this thought loop, you will continue to experience anger, worry, bitterness, likely knotting your stomach. Understand that you can’t control what others say and do, but you can control how you respond to them. You have a choice. You can choose to let the offense in or you can choose to let it go by and not be offended. It’s up to you.
