Notes To My Younger Self:

Notes To My Younger Self:
Thoughts and actions that DO NOT reflect standing in your power:
Judgement
Expectations
Running over, overpowering
Manipulating to get a desired result
Threatening, bullying, shouting, insulting…
Proving something to those who’ve “wronged” you
Elevating yourself above others by diminishing them in some way. (thoughts, words, actions.)
Guilting
Shaming
Disrespecting
Thinking you are better because you have…(resources, status, gifts, power, abilities, standing, education, experience, success…)
Believing you are more important that others. (Your time, your thoughts, your beliefs, your status, your occupation…)
Believing you’re “owed,” entitled.
It’s someone else’s responsibility to take care of you.
Speaking and thinking untruths.
Blaming others. (Not taking ownership.)
Gossiping
Not holding the line of integrity.
Taking on other’s responsibilities.
Fearful.
Doubtful.
Withholding.
Conditional love.
Getting even.
Seeking outside validation.
Presenting other than your authentic self.
Waiting for others to give permission.
Attempting to get what you want through others.
Being who others expect you to be. (To gain love, acceptance, importance, to be “picked.”)
E.L. Chappel author of Spirit Dance and Storm Makers
Standing in your power DOES mean knowing you are so important. You are one-of-a-kind. You are so immensely loved and cherished; far beyond what you can imagine. And you can have everything you need exactly when you need it, through yourself, because you are a treasured child of Heavenly Father.
